Dubbing foreign-language films and TV shows in Europe is a big business and has a long tradtion.
Famous foreign actors are known and recognized for their 'German voice' and the German audiences are used to hearing them. Unfortunately, the actors who lend their voices to the world’s most famous faces don’t always get a spot on the red carpet as EuroVox found out as the lates James Bond film opened around the world this month.I.M.F. Chief's Change of Tune on Bank Capital After sounding the alarm on European banks, Christine Lagarde, the head of the International Monetary Fund, is desperately trying to back pedal on her call for the "urgent recapitalization" of the industry. Over the weekend, she denounced an internal I.M.F. document, saying the European banks capital cushion was short by $273.2 billion.
Changing her tune seems to be a theme for Ms. Lagarde, writes Andrew Ross Sorkin in his DealBook column. But Europe's economic problems won't be fixed until the regulators accept that the banks need more capital.
