People have been cooking with edible flowers for centuries -- but now Italian chefs are rediscovering the culinary potential of petals.

While cooking with flowers is common with Asian and Indian cuisine, the trend waned in Europe after the Victorian era.
Now, one Italian chef is going beyond deep-fried stuffed squash flowers and has started using flowers not only to add colour but to introduce unique flavours to restaurant meals.
