ruse, march, on the march. The Daring Ruse That Exposed China’s Campaign to Steal American Secrets

her ruse was found,

Robert Reich

Friends,
First it was Portland, Oregon.
Now Chicago and Albuquerque.
Next up? Maybe Baltimore or Detroit. Philadelphia or Oakland. Even New York City.
Under the ruse of “law and order” — in the tradition of all authoritarians before him — Donald Trump is sending unidentified paramilitary forces to invade American cities.
These militarized federal troops are maiming peaceful activists, including mothers and veterans, and throwing them into unmarked vans.
Of course, Trump doesn’t give a damn about law OR order.
This is a craven political stunt designed to:
1. Deflect attention away from Trump’s absolutely catastrophic response to the coronavirus emergency, which has seen tens of thousands of preventable deaths as a direct result of his utter disregard and incompetence.
2. Soothe Trump’s frail ego, incite his base, and feed his enablers at One America and Fox News.
3. Test the waters for Trump activating federal troops to intimidate voters on Election Day and to contest the election if he’s voted out in November.
We must not allow Donald Trump to drag America toward a fascist future.
Please join me in supporting legislation introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and others to immediately rein in Donald Trump’s secret police:
