是一本比較早期的辭典，不過問題很多，我隨手舉 169頁的 patrol beat in inspection planning ，它解釋為「檢查計畫中的巡迴路線」，我認為這應更正為「檢查計畫中的巡迴區域（規畫）」：

問--「警官」與「警察」差不多嗎？

古時不都說捕頭, 捕快, 捕役, 捕衙來著?
雖然意義上不盡完全相同

但是到了租界時代, 巡捕, 巡捕房, 捕房應該就近乎等同警察和警察局/派出所了」

「警察」，可能從日本跑來的... 。因為『教育部國語辭典』有「警」與「察」之（無「警察」）引言。
