CONDUCIVE, Necessary and Proper Clause, enumerate. The national political environment just isn’t as conducive to a victory for Kamala Harris as many might imagine,

Why Are Democrats Having Such a Hard Time Beating Donald Trump?

The national political environment just isn’t as conducive to a victory for Kamala Harris as many might imagine, Nate Cohn writes.

But the gulf between the apostles of authenticity and the past masters of political intrigue is not as great as the first group claims. As Niccolò Machiavelli wrote: “It is unnecessary for a prince to have all the good qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them.” Now, where’s my mask?

Did the Health Care Judge Make a Logical Error?
TPM says even some conservatives believe Judge Henry Hudson's reading of theConstitution's Necessary and Proper Clause involved an "elementary logical" error and are "prepared to see Hudson's decision thrown out."

Necessary and Proper Clause

Constitutional provision, U.S. Constitution, Art. I, Sec. 8, Cl. 18, empowering Congress to make all laws which shall be "necessary and proper" for carrying into execution the enumerated powers of Congress. The phrase is not limited to such measures as are absolutely necessary, but includes all appropriate means that are conducive to the end to be accomplished, and which in the judgment of Congress, will most advantageously effect it. 110 U.S. 421, 440. The clause is not a grant of power but a declaration that Congress possesses all the means necessary to carry out its specifically granted powers. 361 U.S. 234.
