It's #NationalCupcakeDay! 🧁 The "inverted cupcake" was one of many nicknames given to the Guggenheim Museum when it first opened in 1959. Frank Lloyd Wright's spiral building was inspired by ancient ziggurats, but Wright turned the shape upside down to express expansive possibility: the spiral could theoretically go on infinitely toward the sky.

A few weeks ago, my friend came back from Brooklyn raving about the food served at a baby shower.
"Savory cupcakes!" she exclaimed. Lasagna, grilled cheese, chicken potpies and even a mac n' cheese cupcake — all shaped like the trendy dessert and served on a cupcake tree.
