correction, in/enter/into correction territory, spreading within the general population

A stockmarket “correction” should hardly be a surprise: the bull market for stocks is aged, having begun in the spring of 2009

Health officials have identified what could be the first U.S. case of the coronavirus spreading within the general population. California Governor Gavin Newsom is calling for greater testing capacity for COVID-19. Here are five ways to prepare for the arrival of the contagious illness.

Coronavirus fears continue to send shock waves through the stock market. European markets are tumbling Friday and the Dow Jones Industrial Average is bracing for another volatile day after the biggest one-day point drop ever on Thursday. The S&P 500 index and the Nasdaq are in correction territory, having both lost more than 12 percent from their peak earlier this month.

The S&P 500 entered correction territory after a sell-off this week. Here's what that means. The sell-off in stocks has fallen to a new level in market lingo: a correction. After tumbling in the past week, the S&P 500-stock index closed on Thursday in that territory.

"Legally blind": the person has visual acuity no better than 20/200 with conventional correction and/or a restricted field of vision less than 20 degrees wide.
