It used to be that there were two kinds of salt you could buy in supermarkets. There were big boxes and small boxes. But lately, more and more varieties of salt are appearing on supermarket shelves.
Are glossy magazines, cooking shows and retailers trying to make our lives just that bit more difficult? Italy, with its 7,600 kilometres of coastline is, unsurprisingly, one of Europe’s biggest salt producers.
