These boots from Kazakhstan in the early 1900s feature in our free display of footwear from North Africa, Turkey, the Middle East, Iran, Central Asia and South Asia. Made for men and women these soft, light, indoor boots (ichigi or masi) have thin, flat soles. They are decorated with brightly coloured leather appliqué patterns that evoke the natural world such as beetles, rams’ horns and cat faces. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Baby leg warmers and socks
Units: About 4,500
Distributor: BabyUnited LLC dba BabyLegs of Seattle, Wash.
Hazard: The leg warmers and socks have a heart appliqué that can detach, posing a choking hazard to small children.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received one report of an infant choking on the heart-shaped appliqué. Her mother was able to dislodge the appliqué from her throat. No medical attention was required.
Description: This recall involves only those BabyLegs brand leg warmers, ankle-high socks and knee-high socks adorned with a heart-shape appliqué. The recalled products are pink, white or purple cable knit socks and leg warmers.
Sold at: www.babylegs.com and independent retailers from August 2010 to November 2010 for about $11 per pair.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled socks and leg warmers away from children. Consumers can remove and discard the heart appliqué to eliminate the hazard or contact BabyLegs to receive a full refund or a coupon to be redeemed on the BabyLegs website.

Manufacturer: Sara Lynn Togs, of Atlanta, Ga.
Hazard: The buttons on the shoulder straps can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: This recall involves Infant and Toddler Gingham and Flannel Shortalls, which are overalls with short pant legs. They have a collegiate appliqué or embroidery on the front. Sizes included in the recall are 6/9 month, 12 month, 18 month, 2T, 3T, & 4T.
Sold at: College bookstores, fan stores, children’s boutiques, and gift shops nationwide from March 2007 through February 2008. The Gingham Shortall sold for about $35 and the Flannel Shortall sold for about $24.
Manufactured in: Peru and China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately return the recalled shortalls to Sara Lynn Togs for a full refund.
