#ReliefWednesday - A fascinating altar decorated with a relief showing the necessary elements for sacrifice; bull, chicken, and sheep (the sacrificial animals), attendant, altar, knife, jug, and libation pan (patera). It stood in the Capitolium of Cuicul (Djemila, Algeria).
And you, my lords of Tyre, your vows address
To Heav'n with mine, to ratify the peace."
The goblet then she took, with nectar crown'd
(Sprinkling the first libations on the ground,)
And rais'd it to her mouth with sober grace;
Then, sipping, offer'd to the next in place.
'T was Bitias whom she call'd, a thirsty soul;
“Music is liquid architecture; Architecture is frozen music.”

With Floodwaters Ebbing, Long Haul of Sandbags Awaits
By ERIK ECKHOLM
Homes alongside the Missouri River in North Dakota have been guarded for months by millions of sandbags. Now comes the back-breaking cleanup.
"WE WON'T let up," insisted Bob McDonald, the boss of Procter & Gamble (P&G) at the annual shareholder meeting of the world's biggest consumer-goods company on October 12th. He promised that P&G was still on track to have 5 billion customers by 2015. But it is a struggle for the maker of Pampers nappies and Fairy washing-up liquid. "Many of the economies in which we operate are still recovering from recession," Mr McDonald admits.P&G and its archrival Unilever, another global consumer-goods firm, had a grim time last year: profits plummeted. This year has been only slightly better. Economies are still ailing, and the cost of raw materials is climbing.
Greek savers empty their bank accounts
More and more Greeks are emptying their bank accounts. Some are worried
their country faces bankruptcy; others are simply living off their savings.
In the first six months of this year alone, Greeks withdrew over 22 billion
euros. Those with the means often take their money abroad for safe keeping.
If the trend continues, many Greek banks could face liquidity problems.
