comp, complimentary, carve up, come to terms with its complicity in the atrocities committed

An investigation by Pro Publica’ s Michael Gravell reveals the lengths Tyson Foods – one of the world’s largest chicken processors, whose workers are all-too-often hurt on the job – has gone to shred America’s system for compensating injured workers.
For example, the corporation decided Chris Godrey, the chief judge of the court that decides workplace injury disputes in Iowa, was too lenient in his rulings. So it backed Republican Terry Branstad for governor in 2010, hosting an event for him at its headquarters and arranging for him to garner the support of other large corporations. Within weeks of his victory, Branstad demanded Godfrey’s resignation. When Godfrey refused, Branstad cut Godfrey’s salary more than 30 percent.
Tyson Food’s strategy, pieced together from depositions and documents in a lawsuit Godfrey filed, is hardly limited to Iowa. Over the past 25 years, Tyson Foods has taken a lead in slashing workers’ comp around the nation.
In my view, Tyson Foods joins Walmart, Pfizer, Koch Industries, McDonalds, JPMorgan, AIG, and Monsanto in the Corporate Hall of Shame.
What do you think?
