This summer, Techno meets the Middle Ages—get ready for Sonic Cloisters 💥 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Tune in for our new series of virtual concerts filmed at The Met Cloisters featuring renowned and emerging electronic-music artists. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This #MetLiveArts concert series—created in collaboration with Shawn Schwartz, founder of the famed Brooklyn electronic music venues Halcyon and Output—explores unexpected parallels between Techno and the art of the Middle Ages. ⁣
Much like the medieval art that surrounds each performance, modern Techno expresses present-day anguish, expectation, and celebration, responding to inequity, suffering, and uncertainty with bright innovation and imagination.⁣⁣

Two DJs in large-brim hats stand at a table on a small stage in front of a large medieval altar in The Fuentidueña Chapel at The Met Cloisters. A large crucifix hangs in the archway of the chapel. The stone walls are lit with a bright blue and green.
