日經BP社報導:「NEC由於其生產的筆記本電腦出現機體變形等故障,決定免費修理所有對象機型。原因是主板材料與電容器材料存在不相匹配的問題,隨著時間的推移、會引起化 學反應並導致發熱。結果,致使電容器出現故障、筆記本電腦無法接入電源,或者導致冒煙,有的機體底面出現了直徑5mm左右的破洞。

  NEC在2004年1月~2007年5月之間共收到65件問題報告,所以決定進行免費修理。由於這種問題是隨著時間的推移而出現的,因此進入 06年下半年之後,報告數量開始增多。免費修理的對象為2003年3月~2005年4月期間製造的“LaVie M”、“LaVie G型M”及“VersaPro”,總共約5萬4800台。計劃從用戶手裏回收產品、更換主板後還給用戶。(記者:赤坂 麻實)」
