Trump Budget Is ‘Heavy Lift,’ Even in G.O.P. Congress

The programs the budget targets include some Republicans have longed to cut, but also some that enjoy bipartisan support. And the plan does nothing to reduce the deficit.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has surprisingly ordered steps
towards normalising relations with Georgia and the lifting of
economic sanctions. Russia's foreign ministry announced the measures,
which include re-establishing postal links and lifting visa
restrictions, two days after Moscow angered Tbilisi by announcing
closer ties with two breakaway Georgian regions. Meanwhile, Putin
who is visiting Italian prime minister-elect Silvio Berlusconi in
Sardinia, said that Russian airline Aeroflot would renew its
interest in Italy's ailing flagship carrier, Alitalia, after a deal
with French-Dutch airline Air France-KLM foundered.
