Euroland(ALSO the Eurozone)

For the first time, turnover in the German Aerospace Industries (BDLI) exceeded 20 billion euros in 2007, and the sector’s employee numbers jumped. But the dollar-euro exchange rate could bring turbulences in the coming year.

The German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) sees dark clouds emerging above its companies for 2008 and the years to come if the dollar-euro exchange rate remains on the level it has reached in the past few months.

The weak dollar could force companies to leave the Eurozone. BDLI president Thomas Enders fears this could threaten up to 640,000 jobs in Europe.
