gaffe, mansion, abode, tanning bed, let the fox in the henhouse

But part of the problem is the man himself, or rather, his mouth. A stream of gaffes has led many to reconsider his suitability to lead the nation.

Facebook's CEO apologized for gaffes the social-networking site made in rolling out ads that tracked users, and said users would be able to entirely disable the controversial system.

The latest news from Alaska is that the governor keeps a tanning bed in the Juneau mansion. As The Los Angeles Times pointed out, when Palin declared May 2007 Skin Cancer Awareness Month in Alaska, the press release explained that skin cancer was caused by “the sun and from tanning beds.”

By the 14th century, the incongruity was avoided via the concept of Limbo, the abode of righteous souls who weren't destined for either Heaven or Hell.

On the subject of Carl Icahn, the activist investor who is trying to oust Yahoo's board, Mr. Yang had this to say: "Do you let the fox in the henhouse?"

While Mr. Yang was unfailingly polite in the interview, Yahoo and Mr. Icahn exchanged harshly worded statements on Monday. The discord didn't seem to bode well for any kind of a compromise before the Aug. 1 shareholder vote.
