Top Military Official Apologizes for Role in Trump Photo Op

The photo op started a reckoning in the military. “I should not have been there,” said Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Formerly known as the Yale Swimming Association, the varsity men’s swim team was established in 1898. Under the direction of legendary swim coach Robert J.H. Kiphuth (back right), the team won four NCAA championships in ’42, ’44, ’51, and ‘53. ‪#‎TBT‬

Kiphuth also served as Yale's athletic director and head coach for the USA Olympic team. In 1960, the United States Swimming National Championships named the high point scorer award (male and female) the Robert J.H. Kiphuth Award.

photo op (sometimes written as photo opp), short for photograph opportunity (photo opportunity), is an arranged opportunity to take a photograph of a politician, a celebrity, or a notable event. The term was coined by the administration of US President Richard Nixon.
