Devices that ship with Google Services have side loading turned off. The only source of applications is the Google Play Store and these applications are both tested and monitored for malware and other security issues. But Android offers users the option to install applications from other sources - one of the biggest examples is Fortnite, which is not available in the Google Play Store but can be downloaded from Epic games directly.
Allowing side loading of applications does open up part of the system, it is a toggle able feature, so once Fortnite users have side loaded the title, the recommendation was to switch this option off, closing this avenue to code with nefarious intent.

Revised Tally Increases ‘No’ Votes for Yahoo Directors

Published: August 5, 2008

...On Tuesday, Yahoo issued a new tally of its directors’ election, showing that investors representing 33.7 percent of votes cast at the annual meeting on Friday withheld votes from Mr. Yang. Yahoo’s chairman, Roy J. Bostock, received a 39.6 percent “no” vote. Ronald W. Burkle received a 37.9 percent “no” vote; Arthur H. Kern, 31.7 percent; and Gary L. Wilson, 27.7 percent.
“Clearly, it indicates a high degree of shareholder dissatisfaction,” said Michael Klausner, a Stanford Law School professor who specializes in corporate law and governance. He said the percentage of votes withheld was particularly high given that Institutional Shareholder Services, the influential proxy advisory firm, recommended to shareholders that they re-elect all Yahoo board members. The percentage of votes withheld from these directors is higher than last year.
On Friday, Yahoo reported Mr. Yang had 14.6 percent of votes withheld, while Mr. Bostock had 20.5 percent; Mr. Burkle, 18.8 percent; Mr. Kern, 22.1 percent; and Mr. Wilson, 18.2 percent.
The new tally does not change the outcome of the election. It was issued after an independent firm conceded an error in transmitting votes on behalf of clients.

Name of Product: Performance Fleece-Lined boys’ jackets
Units: About 17,200
Retailer: Old Navy LLC, of San Francisco, Calif.
Hazard: The jackets have a waist drawstring with a toggle that could become snagged or caught in small spaces or doorways, which can pose an entrapment hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (pdf) to help prevent children from getting entangled on waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The performance fleece-lined shell jackets are hooded, zip in the front, and have a drawstring at the waist. The jackets were sold in black or blue in multiple children’s sizes. “Old Navy” is printed on a label at the neck. Style number 507907 is printed on a white label sewn into the side seam of the jacket.
Sold exclusively at: Old Navy stores nationwide and oldnavy.com from August 2007 through November 2007 for about $30.
Manufactured in: Indonesia
Remedy: Consumers should return the jackets to any Old Navy store or, if purchased online, contact Old Navy for instructions on returning the jacket to receive a full refund. Consumers who return the jacket before March 31, 2008 will also receive a $5 appreciation card. Consumers choosing to keep the jacket should immediately remove the drawstring to eliminate the hazard. Visit www.oldnavy.com for instructions on properly removing the drawstring.
Consumer Contact: For additional information, contact Old Navy at (866) 580-9930 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, Saturday between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET, and Sunday between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. ET, email custserv@oldnavy.com, or visit the firm’s Web site at www.oldnavy.com
