It takes an autocrat to design something so ambitious as a city of the future. But if successful, such a city will chafe under autocracy. You cannot attract the world's best and brightest and expect them to work brilliantly in silence.
His on-stage persona as a Zen-like mystic notwithstanding, Mr Jobs was an autocratic manager with a fierce temper.But his egomania was largely justified.
