German Chancellor calls for tighter gun control

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called for stricter gun control in Germany, including the possibility of spot checks; days after a 17-year-old boy used his father's pistol to kill 15 people before shooting himself. Merkel's comments come after Deputy Interior Minister August Hanning called for a debate on whether biometric data should be introduced in security systems for weapons and gun cabinets. Germany has witnessed four school shooting sprees in the last seven years.
